Fire Suppression
Fire Suppression / Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Steamboat Springs Fire Suppression (SSFR) responds to a variety of emergencies to provide structural and wildland fire suppression, emergency medical services (including ambulance transport service), and high and low angle rope rescue.
Staff
Staffing consists of full-time, part-time, and volunteer personnel. All personnel are trained as firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMT) with several personnel trained to the paramedic level.
Dr. Laila Powers is the Medical Director for SSFR. Pre-hospital medical care is provided under the guidance of the Routt County EMS Protocols (PDF).

Statement
Our mission is to serve the City of Steamboat Springs and the surrounding community by reducing human suffering and property loss, protecting the environment, and promoting safety through incident response, public education, and fire prevention programs.

We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and endeavor to efficiently employ all required resources to provide a service deemed excellent by the community of Steamboat Springs and its visitors.
Upcoming
Board Meeting
Board Meetings are held the Third Monday of the month January through November, and the second Monday in December at 5:00 p.m., Centennial Hall, Citizens Hall/Council Chambers. They are all open to the public.
As of March 16, 2020 Board Meetings meetings are being held via teleconference due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Conference line information is posted on the Meeting Notice.
